Finish That Project!

Let’s talk about something that’s a little hard to talk about: unfinished projects. I’m ashamed to admit how many projects I’ve started or gotten all of the materials for and just…ran out of steam. There are piles of projects in my craft room that I SWEAR I will get to one day, but can never seem to find any inspiration. And the more I try to force myself to finish those projects instead of starting a new one, the less motivation I have to craft at all.

That feeling is a large part of the reason I decided to start this blog. Not only to give myself a place to showcase those projects I finally worked on, but to motivate other crafters to create again. I challenge you to go make something this weekend! Think about a couple small projects you’ve been putting off, pick one that won’t take very long, sit down and create 😊

If you still can’t get motivated, really think about why you don’t want to do the project and change it. Is it too boring? Go on Pinterest and find similar projects to get more ideas. Or just add glitter – that’s my go to. If you really can’t make yourself do that project, see what you can do with the same materials. Whatever you do, whatever you make, go get crafty this weekend! Take some time to refresh your creative juices and don’t forget to take pictures!

This week, my friend Abbot messaged me some pictures of a project she has been putting off that she finally found the motivation to finish. She put contact paper on cardboard and used it to hide away the bottles in her laundry area. This is an example of a really simple project that can easily pull a space together and make it look more organized. You can see the before and after pictures here:

I can’t tell you how happy it makes me to see other creative types crafting! So please take this challenge and run with it 😊 I’m going to start featuring fellow creatives and their crafts, so send me pictures of what you make and you and your project may be featured here soon! Send me a message or comment on this post and get creative this weekend! I look forward to hearing from you 😊 As always, subscribe so you don’t miss out on any fun ideas.
