Recently, I hit a creative rut. I couldnβt find anything that motivated me to craft. Of course, I have hundreds of ideas written out but nothing felt right. So I reached out to a friend (thank you Cody!) who gave me an amazing request: rainbows. After scouring Pinterest, I decided to make these adorable rainbow clouds!

Supplies I used:
White foam
Googly eyes
Hot glue gun
Yarn (white, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, pink)
Black twine
Scissors

To start, I used the scissors cut my clouds out of foam. Mine are about 8β wide and 4β tall. If you donβt have foam, you could use painted cardboard or thick cardstock. I used hot glue to attach the end of the white yarn to the back of my cloud. Once that was cooled, I wrapped the yarn around my cloud in crisscross directions as you can see in the picture. I chose to only make a few crosses and leave a bunch of empty space, but if you like the fuller look keep wrapping!
When my cloud looked how I wanted, I hot glued black twine to make the smile and googly eyes. The pink cheeks are about 2 inches of pink yarn in a tight swirl with a medium dab of hot glue on the back to attach it and hold the swirl in place.

Next, I cut a LOT of yarn. I cut 6 strips of each of the colors of the rainbow rain (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple) at about 9β long. To make it a little easier, I lined up and hot glued the ends of each of the colors together as you can see in this picture. This made it a lot easier to hot glue to the back of my clouds evenly β hot glue is hard enough to use on a couple of pieces of yarn let alone 36! After the glue was dry, I flipped it over and trimmed the edges of the yarn to make sure theyβre all even. You can leave it like this but I wanted the yarn to be more whimsical looking so I untwisted and pulled apart each piece of yarn.
Once everything looked how I wanted it to look, I doubled up some black twine and hot glued it to the back of my clouds so I could hang them. They go well in this small bit of wall between my bathroom and living room but would also look super cute in a cubicle or on the wall in a kids room!
