Autumn Canvas

Fall is here which means it’s time to hang up the colorful autumn decorations! This is a quick craft I made inspired by a picture I saw on Pinterest that is perfect for this time of year.

I used:

A flat 11”x14” canvas

Dark brown acrylic paint

Paint brush

Hot glue gun

Black pen

Plastic fall colored leaves

To start, I painted my tree branches on the canvas. This took a couple of layers to make it look dark and full like I wanted it to. Each layer took about 20-30 minutes to dry. While my last layer was drying, I turned on my low heat hot glue gun so it could warm up.

The leaves I used have been laying around in a box for a while so they were kind of bent. I warmed them up with my hands and gently moved the plastic and cloth around so they would lay flat against the canvas. I played around with their placement for a little bit and once I knew where each leaf should go, hot glued them into place.

The writing on the right was done with pencil first to make sure it was the right size and font. I went over it with a simple ballpoint pen, but felt tip would also work! I think overall this only took me an hour and a half to make. Super simple, and perfect for fall! Though I may spice it up with some glitter 😊 As always, if you take any fun pictures of any crafts, tag me on Instagram @SmileMakePeopleWonder and use the hashtag #DandelionSmiles.
