Baby, It’s Lukewarm Outside

Are you ready for another cute, simple, fun, fall craft?? I somehow ended up on the punny side of Pinterest and a TON of these amusing fall sayings kept popping up on my feed. At the same time, I was going through my scrapbooking paper for inspiration and saw this sweater patterned piece. They were meant to be together!

I used:

Crafting foam sheet

Hot glue gun

Plastic flowers

One piece of scrapbooking paper

Twine

Scissors

Permanent marker

My foam sheet was a standard 8.5”x11” sheet, so I used it as the basis for my shape. I cut out a circle from the foam that ended up being about 8” diameter. Then I laid it on the back of my scrapbooking paper and cut out a circle that was about 2” wider than my foam circle. This step is important! You’re going to fold the paper around your foam so make sure you have enough to at least cover an inch in the back.

Paper can be hard to wrap in a circle, so I made little pleats like you see in the picture and used hot glue to attach the paper to the back of the foam. Once my base was done, I wrote this adorable fall pun in permanent marker and hot glued some plastic flowers around the top. I wish I had laid out the flowers first because the writing ended up getting a little covered up, but it is still super cute.

To hang my piece, I finger crocheted some twine and hot glued it to the back. If you haven’t seen the post I made on how to finger crochet, here is the link: https://dandelion-smiles.com/2020/09/04/finger-crocheting/ . I can’t wait to see what fall designs you come up with!
