The other evening, I was in a crafty mood but didn’t know what to make. I had seen a tiktok earlier in the day of a woman scrapbook journaling and it popped in my mind. I tend to do what I like to call “clean” crafts where I know what the outcome will kind of look like. I’ve dabbled in scrapbooking, but I always struggle with how to make it look natural. It always comes out super symmetrical and blocky, which is still aesthetically pleasing but never what I’m going for. So I decided: why not try scrapbook journaling and step a little outside my comfort zone.
The tiktok and Pinterest had a lot of cool ideas: patterns, stamps, stickers, flowers, pictures, textures, shapes, etc. I really like quotes, so I picked one and went through my craft room to find things that fit the feeling. The quote I chose was “Do more than exist”. I found a picture in a magazine and used some scrapbooking paper and sticky backed fabric. I don’t have a “how to” for this, but I did my best to find things that made me feel the way that quote did.

I ended up making 2 journal pages since I put them on half sheets of paper. You can see how different each turned out based on the quote and themes. I’m hoping this turns into an easy way to use random things in my craft room as well as relieving some stress. I think this will be an easy way to start crafting for those of you who haven’t delved in the world of DIY yet. It doesn’t take a lot of supplies, and just needs a little imagination.
