Letโs talk about manifestation. Iโve always felt that putting positivity in the world (whether externally or internally) brings positivity to youโฆ likewise with negativity. In other words: karma. Until last year, I didnโt really know much about manifestation or how it works. When the world got flipped upside down, I decided I could react in one of two ways: shut down or use it to my advantage. Of course, I did take a little bit of time to shut down and pretend everything was a fever dream that Iโd wake up fromโฆ but eventually I realized that wouldnโt work and I had to do what I could to use what was happening for my benefit.
With all my new free time, I listened to podcasts and read books and spent more time talking with people who benefitted my life. I realized that I want more out of life than I had in the past. I wanted to enjoy my life, surround myself with people who love me, run my own business, and have a flexible schedule (and the money) to travel. So I manifested it.
Nowโฆ manifestation isnโt magic. As much as Iโd love to manifest a life where Iโm married to Michael B. Jordan on a rescue farm in Fiji, that wonโt justโฆhappen because I dream about it every day. From what Iโve experienced and read, it is pretty simple: the more you focus on something the more likely it is to happen. If I continually think about starting my own business, I will notice more opportunities, have the confidence and motivation to take them, and then they will create more opportunities and momentum towards my goal.
Why is this important? Because we have thousands of thoughts in our brains every single day and they influence our actions subconsciously. If you arenโt heading in the direction you want to, focus on your thoughts. Are they positive, negative, encouragingโฆdiscouraging? The more you focus on what youโre thinking about and how you think about yourself, the more youโll notice a correlation with your life and how you feel. If your thoughts arenโt working for you, change them. Write down your negative thoughts and change them to something positive. Ex: โIโm not good enough to be a professional organizerโ turns into โI enjoy organizing and can use it to help people every day.โ At the end of the day, write down 3-5 things that made you happy. Write affirmations on your mirror so you see them every morningโฆ There are so many ways to reframe your mind and focus on things that will benefit you instead of holding you back.
