Last month, I was on TikTok (big surprise, I know) and I saw a couple doing this Adventure Challenge book. I looked it up just to see what it was and decided I had to have it! After a year spent at home, sometimes itβs hard to come up with things to do that arenβt at home and donβt spend a lot of money. These books are designed to get us out of our heads and away from the distraction of technology and do something a little different. There are versions for couples, friends, family, and solo adventures. I got the couples package full of date ideas and we finally dove into it this weekend!

So here is the gist of this book: It comes with 50 scratch-off date ideas. The βrulesβ say you if you pick a date and scratch it off you have to do it, take a picture with a polaroid camera, stick the picture next to the date spot, and write a little about your date below it. Weβve been wanting to take the time to do a date from our adventure book for a while, but didnβt have time until this weekend. After we finally figured out how to use the camera that came in the package (it was more confusing than expected), we finally scratched off our first date idea!

The hardest part about this book is picking the date to scratch off! But there are hints. Every page has a description like βdouble datesβ and βfood with BAEβ and each date has labels next to it with a key so you know if itβs outdoor, at home, includes food, etc. On top of the scratch-off, there is an estimated cost and how long it should take. We wanted something that wouldnβt cost a lot, would only take a few hours, and could be done at home since it was a Sunday. I donβt want to ruin the book for you if you end up getting it, but I think I can share one date to give you an idea of what it was like.

Our date prompt was to get face/body paint and draw on each other. We got paint and a cheap twin sheet from Walmart (I know, I donβt love Walmart but the closest craft store is half an hour away). I had a bunch of paint brushes at the house already. When we got back to the house, we swept up the living room, laid down our sheet, and painted each other while talking and watching Lord of the Rings. I wish I had looked up designs or tried to come up with a fancy design, but I basically did finger painting on his chest and he drew a geometric shape and a worm coming out of my belly button to attack my jugular (I wonβt attach those pictures, but they were super cute).
Anyway, I LOVED this date night idea and Iβm so excited to scratch off more!
