Feng Shui Me

Lately I’ve been doing everything I can to change the energy around me. I’ve been purposeful about who I talk to and when, making sure I take breaks from work and clients, and overall just trying to be more intentional about my actions. The last couple of weeks, I’ve hit a rut. My energy is low and I don’t have much energy to do things for myself (including cleaning my house), and my client load has decreased. This is making it SUPER hard to say no to clients and stick to my rule of no work after 7pm… but I’m doing my best.

Today (well… yesterday when you read this), I was listening to a new podcast at work. There are 3 comedians who talk about self-help books and why they do and don’t like them… at least the one episode I listened to was. It’s called Self-Helpless if you’re interested in checking it out. One of the women mentions a feng shui book that really helped her change her energy flow and encourage the life she wanted. Being a professional organizer AND being in a space where I want to encourage positive energy flow, this seemed pretty interesting.

All I knew about feng shui was that it has to do with where you put things in your house. From the podcast and now a little Pinterest research, I know that there is a grid for your home and each space is dedicated to a type of energy. There’s one for wealth and prosperity, one for love and relationships, and a few more. Whether feng shui is the answer for manifesting my goals or simply helps focus my energy and intention, I am excited to see the outcome. By breaking my home down into the “corners” as they’re called in the grid, I will also be able to do small specific tasks to declutter and organize without getting overwhelmed.

I’ve ordered 2 books that had good reviews and Pinterest has a lot of ideas as usual, so I’m really excited to dive in and clear out my space! And this will add 2 books to my list so I can hopefully reach (or exceed) my goal of 12 this year even sooner. Speaking of books, I’m going to wrap this up and head to bed and do a bit of light reading before I fall asleep. I’ll keep you updated on how my feng shui experimenting goes. If you have any tips or tricks, please send them my way! I’m hoping I can learn as much as possible for both me and my clients 😊 As always, if you take any fun pictures or videos, tag me on Instagram @SmileMakePeopleWonder and use the hashtag #DandelionSmiles. Don’t forget to subscribe so you don’t miss out on the next exciting idea!
