Hanging Crystals

If you read my last post, you’ll know I’m focusing a lot more on being intentional in my actions. And if you haven’t, you should go check that out. Anywho, while I’m on this journey I’m trying anything I can to focus my energy where I want it to go. The other night, I was reading up on green adventurine and how it helps encourage monetary growth. My research lead me to a tiktoker I follow who runs a small business selling crystals and jewelry made from crystals. I found a few sets of earrings I really liked and was looking through the crystals really thinking about what I could use.

Now, I’ve always LOVED rocks and gems and crystals… I think most of my family and friends do as well but my boyfriend would disagree. I will collect pretty rocks and take them home and lay them out just like I do crystals. More for the aesthetic than actually knowing what energy these crystals are supposed to bring. My friend Mira, however, knows SO much about crystals and what they can do for you. I gave her a call while I was on the website and she suggested getting black tourmaline to put in my car for protection while traveling.

Today (well… 2 days ago as you read this post), I got my earrings and black tourmaline in the mail!! I got so excited to buy my crystal that I didn’t even think about how I was going to put it in my car. I want to hang it from my rearview mirror so that I can always have the thought of protection in my eyesight, so my thought originally was macrame. The crystal is about a third of the size of my hand and a non-traditional shape, so I didn’t know how to make a sling for it… but I decided to stick to the string.

To start off, I tied a piece of twine around one side of my crystal, twisted it and came back around before tying it tightly at the top. To make the rope to actually hang my crystal, I decided on finger crochet. It’s my go-to, honestly. If you aren’t sure what I’m talking about, go to my blog page and search for a post called “finger crochet” for a more detailed how-to. I slipped some of my twine under the string I just tied and started my crochet from the crystal going up. Now all I have to do is tie it to my rearview mirror and hopefully it’ll give me some good protection and keep me safe while I drive! What are your favorite crystals? What do you use them for? 😊 As always, if you take any fun pictures or videos, tag me on Instagram @SmileMakePeopleWonder and use the hashtag #DandelionSmiles.
